Operation Mincemeat extends for a ninth time
Wartime comedy musical Operation Mincemeat has extended its West End run for a ninth time.
Nominated for six Olivier awards, the show tells the story of a Second World War British deception operation – giving a dead tramp the identity of a Royal Marine and dumping his body in the sea with fake invasion papers, to throw the Nazis off the scent of the 1943 Allied invasion of Sicily.
The show – which has just unveiled a new cast – is now booking at London’s Fortune Theatre until January 25.
It was written and composed by David Cumming, Natasha Hodgson and Zoë Roberts, who all originally performed it as well, plus Felix Hagan.
In a statement they all said: "We’re delighted, proud and only a bit jealous of the amazing reaction to our new fantastic cast – and so happy that as a result they will be delighting crowds into 2025. Sangria!"
Emily Barber and Chlöe Hart have joined Christian Andrews, Seán Carey and Claire-Marie Hall to form the new cast.
