Deadly Funny crowns its 2024 winners

Australia's only comedy competition for Aboriginal talent

Kalah Lovegrove  and Tyson Walker have been named joint winners of the Deadly Funny comedy competition run by the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

It is Australia’s only contest dedicated to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander comedians and comes with a $3,000 first prize.

Also taking part were Ben Moodie, Gamilaroi, Victoria; Elliot Rovedi, Wiradjuri, New South Wales;  Kirsten Lynch, Noongar, Western Australia; and Zone Harlem, Wiradjuri, ACT.

Deadly Funny was hosted by First Nations comedy star Andy Saunders, with special performances by Janty Blair, Kevin Kropinyeri and Dane Simpson.
