Tiger Aspect gets a new comedy chief

Tom Jordan previously produced BBC One sitcom Here We Go

Tiger Aspect - the production company behind the likes of Man Like Mobeen, Bad Education and Peaky Blinders – has appointed Tom Jordan as its new creative director of comedy.

The executive  has spent the last three years at BBC Studios producing shows including Tom Basden’s ensemble comedy Here We Go and Matin Clunes comedy vehicle, Warren.

He was previously at Hat Trick, where his credits included Have I Got News for You.

He will take up his job in late April following the departure of David Simpson earlier this year. Simpson is currently producing the fifth series of Man Like Mobeen starring Guz Khan

Jordan said, "As a young comedy nerd, I grew up watching Mr Bean and Harry Enfield, so the chance to lead the Tiger comedy team into an exhilarating new era is one I'm very excited about.

‘There's a plethora of new talent out there that I've been lucky enough to work with whilst at BBC Studios and Hat Trick, and who I will be bringing with me into the Tiger family.

‘Building on the sterling work of my predecessor, I can't wait to make the shows that set the blueprint for new British comedy and get everyone talking. God knows we need a laugh!’

He will report to the managing director of Tiger Aspect, Lucy Bedford. She said: ‘It’s very cool that Tom is joining us to spearhead our work in comedy. His energy, ambition and natural affinity with talent make him the perfect person to build on Tiger’s exceptional heritage in this space.’
