Sallyann Fellowes wins Leicester Square Theatre’s new comedian title

First female winner in 14 years

Sallyann Fellowes has been named Leicester Square Theatre’s New Comedian Of The Year.

The Cornish comic is the first woman to take the title in the competition’s 14-year history, and receives a £1,000 prize.

Christian Jegard, who previously won the audience award at this year’s Musical Comedy Award, was runner-up, winning £500, and Hugh Peacocke third, winning £250.

The other acts were JR (Jonathan Rippon), Kathleen Hughes, Lauren Carroll, Leah Davis, Maple Zuo, Maria Fedulova, Marty Gleeson, Riggs, Sam Roulston, Samira Banks and Stephen Catling, and the gig was hosted by Mick Ferry.
