Images released of stars Nicola Coughlan and Lydia West

Channel 4 has released its first images from its upcoming comedy series, Big Mood.

Written and created by Camilla Whitehill, the show is described as ‘a vivacious and rebellious portrayal of female friendship when infiltrated by the complexities of a serious mental illness’.

Nicola Coughlan from Derry Girls and Lydia West from It’s A Sin play best friends Maggie and Edde, who have lived in each other’s pockets for ten years.

But with their twenties behind them, careers hanging in the balance and Maggie’s bipolar disorder making an unwelcome return to form, Eddie begins to question whether this friendship is really in their best interests. 

The cast also includes Sally Phillips, Tim Downie, Amy Gledhill, David Mumen, Freya Parker and more.

 The six-part series, made by Fremantle’s Dancing Ledge Productions, will be released at some point next year.
