Leicester Comedy Festival contest for over-55s

Musical comedian Cecilia Delatori has been named the winner of this year's Silver Stand Up competition for comics aged over 55.

She tweeted that she was ‘ gobsmacked’ to take the title at the Leicester Comedy Festival.

Other finalists were Ian Crawford (Cutlery Safety Expert), Joe Bains, Kevin Daniel, Kevin Hudson, Matthew Baylis, Sarah Bowles and Walter Jack.

Delatori, from Berkshire. has been performing musical stand-up since 2009 and made her solo Edinburgh Fringe debut in 2013 with Quick, Quick Slough!

The Silver Stand Up  competition has been running since 2012 with previous winners including Marc Lucero, Shelley Bridgman and, last year, Nik Hill.
