Leicester Comedy Festival opens competition applications

Seeking punsters, over-55s and up-and-comers

Leicester Comedy Festival has opened applications to its UK Pun Championship, Silver Stand-Up competition and Circuit Breakers comedy development scheme.  

The UK Pun Championship is in its 10th year, with the final taking place at De Montfort Hall on February 13 as part of #UKPunDay, which the festival set up.

The Silver Stand-Up competition is open to any comic over the age of 55. Last year 63-year-old Nik Hill took the crown and its £500 prize. 

And Circuit Breakers gives spiring comics   support and a guaranteed spot to perform at the 2023 festival. Each February, eight comedians from across the UK are selected to benefit from the programme.

Applications for all competitions will close on Sunday  December 4 and the successful participants will be announced the before Christmas. To enter any of them visit: www.comedy-festival.co.uk

The festival returns for its 30th anniversary programme from February 8 to 26.
