Entries open for fourth Comedy Women in Print prize
Submissions are now open for the fourth annual Comedy Women in Print prize.
There are three categories: for best published comedy novel which receives a £3,000 cash prize; best unpublished novel, which receives a publishing contract and a £5,000 advance from Harper Fiction; and a £1,000 short story prize.
The awards were created by Helen Lederer, who said: ‘Writing can feel like an uphill battle, so I created CWIP to make a difference and amplify women's extraordinary witty voices.
‘Getting industry recognition gives talented writers the exposure and support they need. Writing funny stuff really does change one's mood –I can't wait for all the amazingly hilarious submissions to roll in and to make the winner's dreams come true.’
This year’s judging panel is headed by broadcaster Angie Greaves and features performers Susie Blake, Arabella Weir, Michelle De Swarte, Olga Koch, Llewella Gideon and Anita Dobson as well as publishing professionals from Farrago and Harper Fiction.
Previous CWIP winners and highlighted writers include Dolly Alderton, Mel Giedroyc, Nina Stibbe, Candice Carty-Williams and Andi Osho.
Closing date is October 14. For full details visit Comedy Women In Print website.
