In aid of anti-harassment group Get Off Live Comedy

Nish Kumar is to headline the  Get Off Live Comedy Gala at the Edinburgh Fringe next week, it has been announced.

The bill for the benefit at the Pleasance Grand also includes Sindhu Vee, Mark Watson, Sikisa Bostwick-Barnes, Kiri Pritchard-McLean and Nina Gilligan.

The show is raising money for Get Off Live Comedy, which aims to set up an effective HR department for the comedy industry with the aim of eradicating sexual harassment.

Pritchard-McLean, who is one  of the comedians behind the campaign, said: ‘We’re delighted to have a presence at the Edinburgh fringe this year.

‘Since the festival started we’ve had daily reports of abuse and harassment and we’re working hard to support victims. This event will raise some much-needed funds for our vital work, alert people to our presence and we’ll have a laugh while doing it.’

One in three female workers in UK live comedy have observed or experienced some form of workplace sexual harassment , according to the charity.
