Bob Saget's cause of death revealed

US comic suffered head trauma

American comic Bob Saget died of head trauma, his family revealed.

The stand-up and  Full House sitcom star was found unresponsive in Orlando's Ritz Carlton hotel last month while on tour.

Now his relatives have released a statement about the circumstances of the 65-year-old's death.

‘The authorities have determined that Bob passed away from head trauma,’ they said in a statement.

‘They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep.

‘No drugs or alcohol were involved.’

They added: ‘We ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter.’

As well as his role as Danny Tanner on Full House, Saget was also  the voice of narrator Ted Mosby on the sitcom How I Met Your Mother and the original host of America's Funniest Home Videos.

But to stand-up fans he was known for edgy, often dirty material, that flew in the face of his family-friendly TV image.

His death prompted an outpouring of tributes from fellow comedians including Jim Carrey, who said: ‘He had a big, big heart and a wonderfully warped comic mind. He gave the world a lot of joy and lived his life for goodness’ sake.’
