Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Stephanie Beatriz is to make her West End debut in the supernatural thriller 2:22: A Ghost Story.

She will star opposite Inbetweeners actor James Buckley, I’m A Celebrity winner Giovanna Fletcher and Elliot Cowan, an actor whose credits include Ultimate Force, Lost in Austen and  Da Vinci's Demons

The show, by comedian turned playwright Danny Robins begins a new run at the Gielgud Theatre on December 4.

Beatriz – who played Rosa Diaz in the US cop comedy, said she was ‘hooked the moment I read 2:22. I was on the edge of my seat reading it, and I hope you will be too when you watch it.’

She added: ‘I am excited to be playing a Latinx American trying to make sense of this very unusual and intense London setting.’

Beatriz also stars as the lead character Mirabel in Disney’s forthcoming animated movie Encanto, and previously played Carla in the film version of Lin-Manuel Miranda's  In The Heights.

2.22: A Ghost Story previously had a record-breaking run at the Noel Coward Theatre, and director Matthew Dunster said: ‘2:22 had an extraordinary effect on audiences. I’ve never experienced anything like it.  They loved the play and the surprises’.

Robins added: ‘I was blown away by the response to the play this summer, both from the critics and our amazing audiences, so I am hugely chuffed to be able to bring the show back so quickly and to this beautiful, historic theatre.

‘Slipping from autumn into winter, it feels the perfect time for a ghost story, so I can’t wait to spook a whole load of new audiences at the Gielgud. I’m hoping you’ll laugh, jump, be on the edge of your seat, and then spend the rest of the night talking about whether ghosts exist!’
