Kae Kurd to host Edinburgh TV awards
Kae Kurd is to host this year’s Edinburgh TV Awards, it has been announced.
The British-Kurdish comic will also perform stand-up at the ceremony, which will take place entirely online from 1pm next Thursday. He follows in the footsteps of Munya Chawawa, who did the honours last year.
Kurd – who is currently involved in a libel battle after denying claims of plagiarism from fellow comedian Darius Davies – said: ‘It’s a huge honour to host this year's Edinburgh TV Awards, especially seeing the names that have hosted in previous years. I feel really proud to be able to a part of recognising some really talented people.’
It has also been announced today that Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer will receive the outstanding achievement award.
Among those up for other accolades are comics Rosie Jones, who is shortlisted in the breakthrough category, and Romesh Ranganathan for best presenter.
