Jimmy Carr, Noel Fielding and Gina Yashere

Jimmy Carr, Noel Fielding and Gina Yashere have been added to the line-up of this year’s digital Just For Laughs Festival.

Yashere will be giving a keynote address to the event at 11pm on October 9, UK time, while Carr and Fielding will be in discussion for a Conversations With Funny People session 24 hours later.

Usually held in  Montreal every July, where it is a magnet for the US comedy industry, the Just For Laughs festival will this year take place online - but all events will be free.

Also added to the programme today are Conversations With Funny People events with Chelsea Handler and Ronny Chieng, a discussion between Kevin Hart and Judd Apatow,  a panel about Steve Byrne’s forthcoming film The Opening Act, about an aspiring comedian given the chance to open for his hero; and Howie Mandel interviewing comics about how they turned personal adversity into material.

The two-day festival will have multiple virtual comedy rooms that will be running simultaneously, starting at Friday October 9 at 10:15pm UK time. Each show will remain on the website via video on demand until 5am Monday.
