Black-ish gets another spin-off

Old-ish with Laurence Fishburne and Jenifer Lewis

Black-ish creator Kenya Barris is working on a  third spinoff from his hit comedy series.

Laurence Fishburne and Jenifer Lewis would reprise their roles as Earl and Ruby Johnson in the new show, called Old-ish.

The plot involves them moving to a rapidly gentrifying neighbourhood of Los Angeles to give their relationship a second chance.

Fishburn’s character, the father of Anthony Anderson's Dre, has appeared in more than 60 of the 141 episodes of Black-ish, with Lewis joining the recurring cast in the second series.

News that Old-ish is being developed by America’s ABC  network was reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Black-ish has already spawned the sequel Grown-ish, for younger audiences, and the 1980s set prequel  Mixed-ish.

Barris also created Black AF for Netflix, which has  been commissioned for a second series.
