Sue Johnson joins The Man In The White Suit
Sue Johnston has joined the cast of the new stage adaptation of classic Ealing comedy The Man In The White Suit.
The Royle Family star will play Mrs Watson, the landlady role played by Edie Martin in the 1951 movie.
She joins the previously announced Stephen Mangan, who plays the Alec Guinness role of Sidney Stratton and Kara Tointon as Daphne Birnley, originally played by Joan Greenwood.
The satire about a man who invents a suit that never frays or gets dirty is being adapted by Sean Foley. His other stage credits include the Morecambe and Wise tribute The Play What I Wrote and Graham Linehan's adaptation of another Ealing comedy, The Ladykillers.
The new stage version will run for three weeks at Theatre Royal Bath from September 5 before starting at Wyndhams Theatre in London from September 26.
