Sharon Horgan developing a ‘morally complex drama’
Sharon Horgan is developing what’s described as a ‘morally complex drama’ for Amazon.
The Catastrophe co-creator is working with Peaky Blinders producer Caryn Mandabach Productions on the show, Dirty, which is about ‘a principled woman who takes her first steps into a world of moral complexity’.
Merman – the production company she founded with producer Clelia Mountford – is working on the show, which is being written by Danny Brocklehurst.
Horgan told trade website Deadline: ‘I love Danny’s writing and I loved this idea from the minute I read it. There’s an atmosphere and grit to it that feels very new. We’re delighted that we get to bring it to life’
Yesterday it was revealed that 30 Rock star Tina Fey is to star in a short love story written and directed by Sharon Horgan as part of Amazon Prime’s Modern Romance anthology series.
Horgan is also set to star in a movie based on the Military Wives chart-toppers, as well as playing Aisling Bea’s sister in the fortcoming Channel 4 series Happy AF.
She is to make her directorial debut with an adaptation of the novel The New World, and is writing another Amaon Prime comedy with Meet The Parents screenwriter John Hamburg and his frequent collaborator Ian Helfer.
