Tamar Broadbent makes New York debut

British musical comic to play SoHo Playhouse

British comic Tamar Broadbent is to make her New York debut with her one-woman musical comedy, Best Life.

The show – which she performed at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe – which will run from December 7 to 16 in the 60-seat Huron Club, the cabaret bar at the SoHo Playhouse.

It revolves around the ambition and anxiety, contrasting her life as a member of a generation for whom the perfect Instagram image is at odds with reality, with that of her 95-year-old grandmother Joan.

Broadbent is  currently performing at theAmerican improv theatre Boom Chicago in Amsterdam, whose alumni include: Seth Meyers, Jordan Peele and Kay Cannon. 

She has also co-written the musical Club Mex, which opens at the Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester on January 17 and is currently developing a sitcom pilot.
