London show will aid animal welfare in Asia

Dave Spikey has vowed to give all the proceeds of his London gig this month to an international animal welfare organisation.

Money from his Leicester Square Theatre date in his  Juggling On A Motorbike on Friday September 28 will go to  Animals Asia.

The organisation works to put an end to bear bile farming in China and Vietnam.

Bile bears, sometimes called battery bears, are kept in captivity to harvest their bile, which is used by some traditional Chinese medicine practitioners

Spikey and his wife Kathleen have each signed up for Animals Asia’s programme to adopt a bear and fund its rescue. In 2007 the couple travelled to Vietnam and China to visit the farms and rescue centres..
