New US sitcom for Australia's Josh Thomas
Australian comedian Josh Thomas is to pilot a new American sitcom, Everything’s Gonna Be Okay.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the show is about a 25-year-old still living at home with his single dad and two teenage half-sisters, one of whom has autism.
He is not particularly helpful in raising his siblings, but when their dad becomes terminally ill, he is the one who has to hold it all together.
Thomas, who previously had an international hit with the coming of age sitcom Please Like Me, which aired on the Pivot network in the US.
Everything’s Gonna Be Okay will be produced for ABC / Disney cable channel Freeform, by British company Avalon Television, whose bosses Jon Thoday and Richard Allen-Turner are among the executive producers.
