99 Club reopens bursaries for female comedians

London's 99 Club is offering its second bursary to support female comedians.

Two women who are taking their first full length solo show to the Edinburgh Fringe can apply for one of two £500 awards.

Those shortlisted will take place in a  showcase at 99 Club Leicester Square on Tuesday May 29, where the two winners will be revealed.

Last year the club gave its first bursaries to Arna Spek and Lauren Pattison, who went on to receive a nomination for best newcomer in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. 

With six different West End venues, The 99 Club is London’s biggest employer of stand-up comedians, It and has won London’s Best Comedy Club at the Chortle Awards every year from 2011 to 2018.
