Comic back in Guadeloupe

Filming is under way on the eighth series of Death In Paradise.

Ardal O’Hanlon is in Guadeloupe where he is reprising his role as lead detective DI Jack Mooney, heading a cast that also includes Joséphine Jobert, Tobi Bakare, Don Warrington  and Elizabeth Bourgine.

Series eight also marks the departure Red Dwarf star Danny John-Jules, whose character, Officer Dwayne Myers, has been with the show since the start.

Executive producer Tim Key said: ‘We’re very sad to have said goodbye to Danny, who’s brilliant performance as Dwayne has helped make the show such a success. We wish Danny all the very best and look forward to working with him again.’

The last series, which saw O’Hanlon take over the lead role,  attracted more than eight million viewers last January.
