BBC's Imagine to showcase Mel Brooks
Mel Brooks is to be the subject of a BBC Imagine film.
The 91-year-old comedy icon is to be featured in the flagship arts strand, fronted by Alan Yentob, when it returns in the spring.
As the musical version of Young Frankenstein opens in the West End, Yentob visits Brooks at home in Hollywood, to spend time with him at work and at play.
The show will also plunder the BBC archive ‘stretching back decades’.
Other subjects of the new Imagine series include Philip Pullman, Tracey Emin and Rupert Everett in search of Oscar Wilde.
