Comedy Central has announced that its new Roast Battle series will be stripped across a week from January 15.

The shows will air at 10pm every night with comedians going head to head as they verbally battle it out with their best insults.

It will include Mark Steel take on his son Elliot, Bobby Mair battle his wife Harriet Kemsley and several pairs of friends going head-to-head.

They will be judged by a panel featuring Jimmy Carr, Katherine Ryan and Russell Brand.

Other showdowns include Joel Dommett vs Iain Stirling, Joe Lycett and Nick Helm, Alex Brooker and Matt Forde, Desiree Burch and Daniel Sloss, Dane Baptiste and Tez Ilyas, Ed Gamble and Phil Wang, Sofie Hagen and Larry Dean, Alex Edelman and Jayde Adams, and Tom Allen and Suzi Ruffell.

After Roast Battle Week the six half-hour episodes will be aired weekly on Comedy Central UK starting Wednesday  January 24 at 10pm.
