Big Bang Theory star rejoins Roseanne
Big Bang Theory star Johnny Galecki is to return to Roseanne.
The actor found fame in the sitcom as David Healy, the wife of Sara Gilbert’s character Darlene, one of Roseanne’s children. And in the new series, coming 21 years after the last, the couple now have kids of their own.
Star and creator Roseanne Barr broke the news on Twitter, saying: ‘We have got our Johnny Galecki back on ‘Roseanne' this episode - what a joy to work with such a deeply empathetic actor. Very moving 4 all of us. #JOY.’
Galecki – who plays Dr. Leonard Hofstadter on Big Bang Theory – recorded his scenes on Friday and posted his own message on Instagram alongside his nametag at what appeared to be a script read-through.
He wrote: ’21 YEARS LATER...! Apart from being born, possibly the most surreal experience of my life. Deep thanks to my Big Bang Theory family for knowing the importance of visiting one’s roots and loaning me out for a quick minute. Much ❤️.’
The revived Roseanne – the tenth series overall – will air on ABC in the States next year.
Other cast members already confirmed for the revival include John Goodman as Dan, Sara Gilbert as Darlene, Laurie Metcalf as Jackie, Michael Fishman as D.J and Lecy Goranson as Becky. Sarah Chalke, who played Becky in later seasons, will appear in a different role.
There has been no news yet about any British broadcaster picking up the show.
