Simon Lomas scoops festival's new act title

Simon Lomas has been won the Nottingham Comedy Festival's new act of the year competition.

It follows his success last year winning the  Great Yorkshire Fringe new act competition. He also made the finals of the English Comedian of the Year in September

Other finalists competing at The Canalhouse last night were Morgan Rees, Phil Yates, Sarah Johnson, Jamie Hutchinson and Ross Smith.

The Nottingham Comedy Festival runs until Saturday.
