What a birthday present!
Former children's entertainer Kathryn Mather has won the annual new talent hunt run by Manchester’s Frog and Bucket comedy club.
The Rochdale comedian – who was performing on her birthday – receives £250 cash prize, and a paid weekend spot at the venue after scooping the Beat the Frog World Series 2017 title
Adam Hughes was runner-up and Russian Konstantin Kisin, from Tunbridge Wells, was awarded the panel prize by venue staff.
The other finalists were Michael Carter, Tayo Cousins, Carrie Anne Guthrie performing as Carrie Anne the RedNeck Comedian, James Harkness as Dougie; Tom Lawrinson and Kiran Morjaria.
Previous winners include Brennan Reece, Sam Gore, Benji Waterstones, Penella Mellor and Carl Hutchinson, with Dublin comic Donal Vaughan taking the title last year.
