Work starts on Not Going Out series 9

Episodes to be filmed from next month

Lee Mack is to start recording the ninth season of his BBC One sitcom Not Going Out from next month.

Seven episodes are to be taped in front of audiences at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.

The ninth and tenth series were both announced in December last year – before the eighth had even aired.

In that season, which was broadcast from January, the timeline had jumped ahead seven years from previous episodes. Mack's character, also called Lee is now married to Lucy (Sally Bretton) as they try to cope with being the parents of three young children.

The opening episode attracted 5.52 million viewers, a record for the show.
