Peter Davey seeks 'new opportunities'

ITV’s head of comedy entertainment Peter Davey is to leave the broadcaster.

In his six years at the company he commissioned Jack Dee's sitcom Bad Move, Jason Manford fronted game show Bigheads, The Keith and Paddy Picture Show, and the ill-fated Nightly Show, which moved the News At Ten from its traditional slot.

Davey told trade website Broadcast: ‘I’ve decided to move on. In the immediate future, I will be spending some time with my kids and dogs, though not necessarily in that order. After that, I will be exploring new opportunities.’

His brief will be taken over by ITV’s head of entertainment, Shu Greene.
