Australia buys BBC's Bucket

Comedy heads down under

BBC Four Comedy Bucket has been sold to Australia.

The series features Miriam Margolyes as the outrageous mother of creator Frog Stone’s far more conservative character.

The series has been snapped up by national broadcaster ABC, which will air it later this year.

Jessica Ellis, from the company’s sales and distribution  arm, said:’Miriam Margolyes is adored by Australian audiences and she’s at her scintillating best in this outrageously funny and touching new series.’

Sabrina Duguet, from distributor All3media International, added: ‘Bucket is warm, humorous and poignant, expertly led by Miriam Margolyes, arguably one of our most engaging comedy actors, and I’m very pleased to see this fantastic series heading to a new audience in Australia.’
