Sarajevo salutes John Cleese

John Cleese is to be honoured by the Sarajevo Film Festival next month,

Calling him the ‘world's living legend of comedy’, organisers are to hand the comedian the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo award for his ‘extraordinary contribution to the art of film’

A Fish Called Wanda will be screened during the festival, while his contribution to film also includes the Monty Python movies, Clockwise and Fierce Creatures.

 Last year’s recipient of the honorary award was director Stephen Frears.

The 23rd Sarajevo Film Festival runs from August 11 to 18.
