Another BBC New Comedy Award heat winner named
Aaron Simmonds has won tonight’s heat of this year’s BBC New Comedy Award.
He impressed judges at the Manchester Comedy Store with a routine about how he gets patronised as a wheelchair-user
London-based Simmonds joins previous heat winners Ophélie Hocquard and Huge Davies as guaranteed semi-finalists at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Tonight’s runners-up, Sarah Keyworth and Pay Rao, also stand a chance of securing wildcard places in the semis.
The heats are being aired on Radio 4 Extra every Friday night.
