On being an Iranian immigrant

Maz Jobrani has landed a Netflix comedy special.

His stand-up show, entitled  Immigrant and filmed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, is due to debut on  August 1.

Jobrani and his family fled the Iranian Revolution when he was just six, and the hour-long show has a political edge as he speaks about being an immigrant in the era of Trump.

The comic has previously written the best-selling memoir I’m Not A Terrorist; But I’ve Played One on TV, which was also the title of his last stand-up special, released in 2015.

Before that, he made Brown & Friendly in 2009 and I Come In Peace in 2013, as well as previously being part of the Axis of Evil touring line-up, which also released a special in 2007.
