...to talk failure

Russell Kane and political aide-comedian Ayesha Hazarika have joined the line-up of the Edinburgh International Television Festival.

Kane is to host a session called EdTalks: Failed It, which discusses whether failure should be a source of shame or an invaluable learning experience.

He will introduce Hazarika, double Olympic champion Joanna Rowsell Shand, and actor Asim Chaudhry as they each discuss their lowest points, how they dealt with them and how they moved on.

Festival director Lisa Campbell said: ‘Every year EdTalks delivers a breadth of speakers, each offering their own stories and life experiences, and this year is no different.

‘We are ready to embrace failure and find out candidly from our esteemed speakers how this has helped shape their careers to date. Be prepared for reflection and Inspiration – and in this industry, much-needed reassurance!’

The Edinburgh International Television Festival coincides with the last weekend of the Fringe, running from August 23 to 25.
