Kevin to headline Australian festival

 Kevin Bridges is to headline the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Sydney this September.

The Glaswegian comedian will appear alongside Rhys Darby, French stand-up star Gad Elmaleh and US comic Bert Kreischer at the seventh annual festival.

Six stand-up showcases will also be taped during the event, which runs from September 11 to 17. They will air on The Comedy Channel and be hosted by Tommy Little

And true crime comedy podcast My Favorite Murder, hosted by Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, will stage a live recording.

Just For Laughs – a spin-off from the Montreal festival – is based at the Sydney Opera House with further shows at the City Recital Hall and Enmore Theatre. 

Names for the gala show have yet to be announced, but previous performers have included John Cleese, Eddie Izzard and Louis CK.

Tickets will go on sale next Tuesday at 9am local time.
