Half-hour show for Adult Swim

Jena Friedman, who played the Edinburgh Fringe in 2015, is to record a stand-up special for America’s Adult Swim.

Her half-hour special, which is yet to be titled, follows the release of her show American Cunt via the US-only on-demand service Seeso earlier this year.

The broadcaster said: ‘Through her sharp wit and unapologetically feminist point of view, comedian and filmmaker Jena Friedman, takes 30 minutes to probe America, tackling evergreen issues related to politics, gender and American culture.’

Friedman has worked as a correspondent for National Geographic Explorer and Vice, and was a field producer for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and writer for Late Show with David Letterman.

Adult Swim also announced a 15-minute series from Eric Andre and Derrick Beckles called Mostly 4 Millennials, described as ‘an exciting look into what makes this incredibly important generation of humans tick’.

Launch dates for the shows have not yet been announced.
