Comics rally around injured Jim Tavare
Comedians in the UK and America are staging fundraising events to help raise funds to cover Jim Tavare’s medical bills.
The comic suffered 15 broken ribs, fractures in both breastbones, a punctured lung, multiple breaks in his right leg, and a broken neck in the head-on collision in Los Angeles.
And tonight big-name international comics including Russell Peters, Bill Burr and Howie Mandel will be performing at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood to raise money for him.
And on May 23, Joe Lycett, Tom Wrigglesworth and the Fast Show’s John Thomson will be staging their benefit at the Manchester Comedy Store.
Organised by local promoter Rob Riley, the gig will also feature Jo Caulfield, Alun Cochrane and MC Mick Ferry.
Tickets are available here.
A crowdfunding campaign has also been set up, which has so far raised almost $20,000.
