Susan Calman to judge book awards

For the best in Scottish crime writing

Susan Calman is to judge a prize for Scottish crime writing.

The comic and former lawyer said she was an ‘avid fan’ of the genre, and added that being on the panel for the McIlvanney Prize ‘is less a chore and more a dream come true.’

She added: ‘I can’t wait to get stuck in, reading the wonderful books produced this year’

Calman joins Craig Sisterson, founder of a New Zealand’s crime writing award, and writer and journalist Lee Randall on the panel.

The award will be presented at Bloody Scotland festival in September and entries must be submitted by Friday April 28.
