Rose Matafeo has recorded her latest show On And On And On to be her second HBO stand-up special.

She said: ‘I had laryngitis at the time of taping and was on a heavy dose of steroids. I accept no responsibility for this performance, except if it’s praise and then I’ll take that.’
Sky has a content deal with HBO, although no UK broadcast date for the special has yet been announced,
The hour was built around a 16,000-word note the Starstruck creator built up on her phone, and has a heavy focus on relationships: from dating in her 20s vs. 30s, to supporting friends through breakups, and the differences between herself and her parents at the same age.
It is Matafeo’s second special after Horndog in 2020
HBO executive Nina Rosenstein said: ‘Reuniting with Rose after her tremendous performance in Horndog and her brilliant work on Starstruck is a welcomed homecoming for all of us.
‘Rose is the ultimate barometer on the countless topics facing millennial women today, and her comedic wit offers just the right amount of guidance and self-deprecation to leave a lasting impression."
The special was directed by Barbara Wiltshire and shot by Avalon, whose bosses Richard Allen-Turner and Jon Thoday are listed as executive producers alongside Matafeo, her agent Cath Gagon and regular co-writer Alice Snedden.
Matafeo can also be heard in Moana 2, which hits UK cinemas from November 29, voicing the character of Loto.
HBO is also airing their first special from James Acaster, with the comic’s Hecklers Welcome show – recorded at the Royal & Derngate Theatre in Northampton, close to his Kettering hometown – airing on the platform from Friday.
