Radio 4 shows for Lindsey Santoro and Dan Tiernan

Stand-up specials to be recorded in December

Lindsey Santoro and Dan Tiernan are recording Radio 4 stand-up shows in December.

The Lively Life Of Lindsey Santoto will be taped in the Glee Club in her Birmingham hometown on December 4, and will delve into the diary she still keeps.

Producers say: ‘But she’s not 13 years old daydreaming about her latest crush and sleepover plans. She is a 37-year-old working class, no-nonsense Brummy, whose days are more likely to involve thrush cream and a bargy with a bus driver.

‘She is loud, real, relatable and most importantly, infectiously funny. Her life can get messy, her observations are frank but her self-awareness and direct approach will have you roaring with laughter, as she shares excerpts of her journal.’

Meanwhile, Tiernan is recording a version of his debut hour, Going Under, at Backyard Comedy Club in London on December 2.

The show was nominated for best newcomer at last year’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards and its description reads: ‘He's 27, gay and riddled with dyspraxia. Dan's had a big year, quitting his job as a dinner lady, going full-time in comedy and finally leaving home, yet somehow he still feels he's completely going under.’

Free audience tickets for both shows are available from Standing Room Only.
