Crossing the pond
North American comics David Cross, Kurtis Conner and Shane Gillis have all announced UK dates.
Cross – known on TV for Arrested Development, Mr Show and The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret – will be playing five days of his The End Of The Beginning Of The End Tour in April.
He has said this show is less political than normal, telling one interviewer: ‘The first half of the set is about this real thing that happened to me that was very embarrassing and it has nothing to do with any of that.’
However, a review of his show last week was headlined: ‘David Cross needles Trump at post-election show’
Also coming to the UK in April is a canadian comedian, YouTuber and podcaster Kurtis Conner with his Goodfellow world tour.
Starting on Vine, Conner now has 5 million followers on YouTube for his progressive commentaries. He was named one of Variety’s Top 10 Comics to Watch last year.
Connor plays Birmingham Town Hall on April 10 (Tickets), London’s Kentish Town Forum on April 11 (Tickets), Brighton Dome on April 12 (Tickets), Manchester Albert Hall on April 13 (Tickets), Glasgow on April 16 (Tickets) and Newcastle’s Tyne Theatre and Opera House on April 17 (Tickets) as well as Dublin’s Olympia Theatre on the 30th (Tickets)
Meanwhile, Shane Gillis is playing just one night at London’s O2 Arena on March 23 (Tickets) and another at Dublin’s 3Arena on March 2 (Tickets).
The comic famously joined Saturday Night Live as a cast member in 2019, only to be fired five days later over racist language he used in a podcast the previous year. However, he was invited back as a guest host this year.
His self-funded debut special, Shane Gillis: Live In Austin, amassed more than 30 million views in 2021, which led to the Netflix special Beautiful Dogs last year.
