Things You Should Have Done gets a second series

BBC renews Lucia Keskin comedy

The BBC has ordered a second series of Lucia Keskin’s Things You Should Have Done.

Over six new half-hour episodes, her useless character  Chi will continue to navigate her way through the titular list left by her late parents as she is finally forced to fend for herself.

Keskin, who also created and writes the show, said: 'The BBC gave us the devastating news that we have to go again for series two, which means I might actually have to work again. Gutte

In series two, Chi also has to prepare for the arrival of her highly strung Auntie Karen’s (Selin Hizli's) baby – while Dan Fearne and Jamie Bisping will also return as father and son Dave and Lucas.

Producer Steve Monger said: ‘We go again! Another trip to sunny Ramsgate by way of Chi’s brilliant imagination. Very much look forward to bringing the dysfunctional family back to your screens."

The second series was commissioned by Jon Petrie, the BBC’s director of comedy, who said: ‘In Things You Should Have Done Lucia has created something brilliantly surreal and totally unique. We can’t wait to see what else is on Chi’s list and what other antics will be unleashed on the unsuspecting locals of Ramsgate.’

Things You Should Have Done recently won best comedy programme at the Broadcast Digital Awards.

When series one launched in February, it got a four-star review from The i, which concluded that the show 'is very funny and very stupid. I think Keskin would take that as the highest of compliments’.

And in a three-star review in The Guardian, Lucy Mangan said it had a fine cast, and very funny moments – even if it can feel underbaked.

Keskin, 23, was first commissioned to make the series following the success of her online work, made under the name Chi With A C.

Things You Should Have Done is a Roughcut TV production for BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.
