Fifth series for Only Murders In The Building

Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez comedy renewed

Only Murders In The Building has been renewed for a fifth season.

American streamer Hulu has announced that it will air 10 more episodes of the Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez comedy.

Series four – which is available on Disney+ in the UK – is currently airing, and due to end on October 8.

It also has 21 nominations in the next Emmy awards, including nods for best comedy series, best lead actor for Martin and Short, best lead actress for Gomez and best supporting actress for Meryl Streep.

New additions to the cast this season include Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, Melissa McCarthy, Kumail Nanjiani, Eva Longoria, Jane Lynch, and Molly Shannon and Richard Kind.

Series co-creator and showrunner John Hoffman told The Wrap that work has already started on the scripts for the new season.

‘We’ve been keeping that a secret for about a week and a half now. It’s very exciting,’ he said Hoffman. 'We’ve been in the writers room for Season 5 for two weeks now. So it’s pretty fast and we’re already in.’

In series 4 the three amateur sleuths head to Los Angeles as Hollywood makes a big-screen version of their podcast.
