Comic to host a weekly slot on

Darren Harriott is to present his own radio show on BBC West Midlands.

The comic, who was born in Oldbury, will be on air every Sunday from 10am to 2pm, starting this coming weekend.

He said: ‘Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would get to host my own BBC radio show especially in the area I love the most….the West Midlands.

‘Excited to bring lots of laughs and fun every Sunday morning right into the afternoon. I can’t wait.’

Harriott’s TV credits include  8 Out of 10 Cats, Live At The Apollo and Dancing On Ice.

His new programme is part of a weekend shake-up at the station with Pop Idol runner-up turned TV presenter Mark Rhodes taking the 10am to 2pm slot, focusing on sport and football
