Friends and family to pay tribute to Ewen MacIntosh

Memorial event for Office star

Family, friends and former colleagues of The Office star Ewen MacIntosh are to raise a scotch egg to his life at a memorial event next month.

The actor and comedian died in February, aged 50, after two years of ill health.

Now relatives, led by his brother Colin, are inviting those who knew him to celebrate his memory at one of his favourite drinking venues, the Phoenix Arts Club in Central London, next month.

They are also seeking stories about the star, as well as suggestions of songs that remind people of him, for a Spotify playlist.

MacIntosh was best known for playing deadpan accountant Keith Bishop in The Office, while his other credits included  Miranda, Little Britain, Cabin Pressure and the Yorgos Lanthimos film The Lobster.

The event – which is only open to those who personally knew MacIntosh, and not fans – will take pace at the bar underneath the Phoenix Theatre on Charing Cross Road on September 5. Register your interest here or for more details email Ed Scott.

Thanks for reading. If you find Chortle’s coverage of the comedy scene useful or interesting, please consider supporting us with a monthly or one-off ko-fi donation.
Any money you contribute will directly fund more reviews, interviews and features – the sort of in-depth coverage that is increasingly difficult to fund from ever-squeezed advertising income, but which we think the UK’s vibrant comedy scene deserves.
