First special for Leroy Brito

To air on BBC Wales and iPlayer

Welsh comic Leroy Brito is recording his first half-hour stand-up special for the BBC.

The as-yet untitled show will be taped at the Richard Burton Theatre on Cardiff on September 18 and air on BBC One Wales and iPlayer in December.

Brito said: 'I’m incredibly excited to bring my stand up to the BBC audience, I feel that I’m currently hitting my stride as a comedian and it’s the perfect time introduce myself to the masses.  The material is ready, I’m raring to go and I can’t wait for everybody to see it.’

The special is being directed by fellow comedian Ignacio Lopez, whom Brito called ‘one of my best friends and a comedic genius’.

Brito recently completed his debut tour, Leroy!! and briefly appeared in Baby Reindeer, compering a gig Richard Gadd’s character Donny performs at.

The special has been commissioned by Paul Forde for BBC Wales and free tickets are available at www.leroybrito.co.uk.
