Sunday August 18

LONDON: Kiwi comic Guy Montgomery returns to the UK for the first time in five years, during which time he has appeared on Taskmaster NZ and made his cult live show Guy Mont-Spelling Bee made into a series both at home and in Australia. With his trademark mix of peculiarity and proper punchlines, his new life show Over 50,000,000 Guy Fans Can't Be Wrong arrives at the Leicester Square Theatre. He also comes to the Edinburgh Fringe from tomorrow.

GLASGOW: Edinburgh's Monkey Barrel Comedy has a new deal with St Luke's to host tour shows in Glasgow, starting with Fugue, from Tatty Macleod – aka 'that French TikTok lady' – today.

LONDON: One of the most invigorating and thought-provoking comics of his generation – and finding a new bunch of fans via his role as Gerry in Derry Girls – Tommy Tiernan brings his latest stand-up show Tommedian to Soho Theatre until the 31st.

Tuesday August 20

LONDON: Former Saturday Night Live star Chris Redd brings his show Workin' On Me to Soho Theatre, just a few months after his first one-hour comedy special Why Am I Like This? premiered on HBO. He's there til Saturday.

Thursday August 22

EDINBURGH: Fern Brady kicks off her new tour I Gave You Milk To Drink with a festival gig at the Playhouse, before travelling to Aberdeen on Saturday and Dundee on Sunday. In the show, the former Taskmaster contestant will ask, 'What happens when you get everything you want and it's not enough? Fern ​Brady tour dates.

Friday August 23

LONDON: Canadian stand-up Dave Merheje, who has a 30-minute special on Netffix's Comedians of the World Canada and is a series regular on the TV show Ramy, comes to the UK for a show at the Bill Murray.

BRIGHTON: Stand-up returns to the Open Air Theatre with Gary Delaney and Glenn Moore – both renowned for their gag rate – and the very personable Thanyia Moore, no relation.

BIRMINGHAM: Jack Gleadow and Jonny Awsum provide some old-style variety entertainment at the Glee tonight and tomorrow alongside fine stand-ups Carey Marx and Lou Conran.
