First tour for BGT comedian Alex Mitchell
Britain’s Got Talent runner-up Alex Mitchell has announced his first tour.
The autistic comic, who also has a functional neurological disorder which gives him physical and verbal tics, will play 20 UK dates of his debut show Tics Towards Perfection early next year, after launching it at next month’s Edinburgh Fringe.
He said: ‘2024 was a mad year for me, I cannot wait to get into 2025 and start my debut tour with a show that means so much to me and I'm so proud of. Brace yourself, you're about to see a whole lot more of Mitchell... I can only apologise.’
In the show, Mitchell promises to ‘reflect on society's perception of queer, disabled, and neurodiverse communities, as well as his own perception of himself’ as he strives to be the best version of himself he can be.
During his appearances on BGT, judge Alesha Dixon said he was ‘absolutely sensational’, while Amanda Holden said: ‘I didn’t stop laughing from start to finish…amazing.’
Originally from Bedford but Yorkshire-raised, Mitchell has been juggling a day job as a teacher with his comedy ambitions.
