British comedian 'to appear in Taskmaster Australia'

Spoilers ahead as series 3 names are leaked

A British comedian is taking part in the third series of Taskmaster Australia, according to a leaked list of contestants.

So stop reading now if you don’t want to know who it is!

Welsh stand-up Lloyd Langford is reportedly taking part in the series with his partner, the Australian comedian Anne Edmonds.

The website TV Tonight has revealed the five comedians to feature in the series, which airs on the 10 network, saying that Jenny Tian, Josh Thomas and Australian comedy veteran Wil Anderson – a regular visitor to the Edinburgh Fringe – are also taking part.

Tom Gleeson and Tom Cashman return as the Taskmaster and his sidekick.

A second season of Taskmaster has also been filmed and is expected to air in May featuring Pete Helliar, Mel Buttle, Aaron Chen, Concetta Caristo and Rhys Nicholson, below.

The first ever winner of the Chortle Student Comedy Award, Langford was an in-demand TV writer on the likes of Never Mind The Buzzcocks before leaving the UK as well as appearing on shows such as Radio 4’s The Unbelievable Truth and BBC One’s Ask Rhod Gilbert.

He travelled to Australia for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in February 2020, when lockdown hit, delaying his planned return. He ended up setting up home with Edmonds – who has been nominated for the festival’s top award four times – and they had a daughter in October 2021.

Langford has become familiar to TV viewers down under, mainly  down to his appearances on the panel show Have You Been Paying Attention?

Edmonds too is a TV regular, including being a part of the Fancy Boy sketch team and having her stand-up show What's Wrong With You? on Amazon Prime Video.
