Alex Edelman’s Just For Us becomes an HBO special

Broadcaster to air Broadway version of the stand-up show

Alex Edelman’s solo show Just For Us – which went from the Edinburgh Fringe to Broadway – has been turned into an HBO special.

The show, about the Jewish comic infiltrating a meeting of white supremacists was filmed at the Hudson Theatre in New York last August.

Now it will air on HBO this April – although no date has yet been confirmed. Many HBO shows also air on Sky in the UK, although  again nothing has been announced.

Edelman said: ‘You know, when I was in high school, I saw John Updike give a talk and he said "if you’re lucky, the work that you write might at some point find itself in conversation with the times in which you live." And, well, call me Mr. Lucky.’

HBO executive Nina Rosenstein added: ‘Alex is a truly brilliant writer and storyteller. Just For Us is a thought-provoking and powerful show that stays with you long after you see it, and we’re thrilled to bring it to our audience.’
