BBC to air American Have I Got News For You

Starting tonight!

The BBC is to air the American version of Have I Got News For You as the Presidential election heats up.

The ten-part series, hosted by comedian and former Daily Show correspondent Roy Wood Jr, launched on CNN on Saturday.

And now that first episode will be on BBC Two and iPlayer at 11.05pm tonight, with further instalments to follow weekly.

The team captains are comics Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black, with the guests on episode one being Black Lady Sketch Show creator Robin Thede and journalist Matt Welch.

The show is produced by Hat Trick Productions, which also makes the UK original.

It has today also been confirmed that the 68th series of the UK original will air on BBC One from Friday  October 5 with journalist  Helen Lewis joining Paul Merton and Ian Hislop. The presenter and other guest is yet to be announced.

Here is the 'odd one out' round from the CNN version:

Thanks for reading. If you find Chortle’s coverage of the comedy scene useful or interesting, please consider supporting us with a monthly or one-off ko-fi donation.
Any money you contribute will directly fund more reviews, interviews and features – the sort of in-depth coverage that is increasingly difficult to fund from ever-squeezed advertising income, but which we think the UK’s vibrant comedy scene deserves.
